The needs of our students and the market are at the very centre of Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences. The organisation is aligned with the fourfold performance mandate and is based on the three pillars of teaching, continuing education and services as well as applied research & development.
University Council
The University Council of Kalaidos UAS bears strategic responsibility for matters relating to university law. It decides on the objectives and focal points of teaching and research, quality management and the provision of services. In addition, it has far-reaching decision-making powers in matters that directly affect the quality of teaching and research.

University Conference
Operational responsibility for all higher education law matters lies with the heads for each department, the director of the Careum School of Health, the Head of Quality and Development, the Chief Financial and Operating Officer and the Head of Applied Research & Development (R&D). Together they form the University Conference.

Organisation and operational management
The rector of the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences is Prof. Dr. José Gomez. He receives his mandate from the Kalaidos Swiss Education Group. His tasks include, in particular, the higher education legal, economic and financial management of the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences. In addition, he is responsible for aligning the range of services with future environmental developments and the resulting market opportunities. Furthermore, his responsabilities include the operation and further development of the quality management system and the representation of Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences in higher education policy and other relevant organisations and committees.
Alongside the rector, the Executive Board consists of the Vice-Rectors (Prof Andreas Breitenmoser, Prof Elena Pintarelli, Prof Dr Christian Fichter), the Head of Quality and Higher Education Development (Prof Dr Marcel Schmid) and the Chief Financial Operating Officer (Sabine Eichert). The Rector may call in other members of the university.
