First Alumni reunion brings together dozens of graduates from all over Suisse Romande

Five years after our very first student signed up for our postgraduate programs, Kalaidos Romandie is now the proud alma mater of close to 100 graduates representing the six French speaking cantons and close to 50 different financial and banking institutions.
To build on this important collective intelligence and leverage the networking potential of the group, Kalaidos Romandie hosted its first ever Alumni reunion on November 11th on the beautiful site of the Lausanne Olympic Museum.
To keep in line with the program’s values of mixing rigour and seriousness on the one hand, outside-the-box thinking and creativity on the other, the event was run along the same principles.

The Alumni day showcased a solid educational part, featuring a round table on the subject of blockchain with four high level Swiss experts provocatively called “Should one be afraid of blockchain?” (answer: no, provided that…)
As a complement, two conferences in the Tedtalks mode (fondly renamed KalaidosTalks) featured high level speakers on disruptive subject.
Etienne Eichenberger, arguably the leading voice of philanthropy in Switzerland explained how philanthropy has reviewed its reporting, transparency and governance to become quite a very well structured and serious field in which banks which have taken a leading role have seen solid side effects under the form of increased revenues and net new assets.
During the cocktail, iconic speaker and Reuge CEO Kurt Kupper explained glass in hand how he managed to turn a very classical business of musical timepieces into a highly growing hip market without compromising its values – another lesson Swiss bankers could draw inspiration from.
The day also proposed its share of networking opportunities including through an Olympic quiz which matched teams made up of different classes (did you know that Switzerland sent the first ever woman to the games or that shooting on live pigeons was once an Olympic sport?) and a promising dinner cocktail, as well as the presentation of the latest Kalaidos student research in the popular yet rigorous “thesis in 180 seconds” exercise.
In line with the time tested strategy of recognizing your former clients as your best marketing asset, Kalaidos Romandie is confident this Alumni event will enhance and strengthen an already solid brand in the dynamic and competitive Romandie market.
