On February 3rd 2012, the graduation ceremony of the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences took place
On February 3rd 2012, the graduation ceremony of the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences took place. The graduation ceremony marks the completion of the hard work of the Executive MBA students at International Management Institute. Students successfully completed their specializations of International Management and International Marketing.
This year was the first time that both bachelor and master’s level students graduated.
Graduates came from the following study programs:
- Executive Master of Business Administration FH
- Master of Advanced Studies FH
- Bachelor of Science FH in Business Administration
- Bachelor of Science FH in Information Technology
The graduation ceremony took place at the auditorium of the Kunsthaus Zurich. Graduates and guests were greeted by a welcome reception. The evening started of with the welcome speech by the Dean of the Kalaidos UAS, Mr. Eggenberger, which was followed by a commencement speech by Michael Ganz, the Executive MBA Graduate on the English Language Programs at the IMI, who shared his experiences, up and downs of the two year long EMBA journey. The evening proceedings were moderated by Dr. Peter Stapfer. The graduation ceremony entertainment program included music by the Swing Band “Patchwork” and the surprise guest sketch by Michael Schacht. Mr. Schacht, better known under the pseudonym Philip Maloney, read "the pigeon" from the collection "the appalling cases of Philip Maloney." The highlight of the evening was the handing out of the diplomas, followed by the granting of awards for the best Master’s and Bachelor Theses, presented by Prof. Dr. Ugo Merkli and Dr. Regula Altmann-Jöhl. Receipients of the best Masters and Bachelor’s Theses are:

- Reto Wehrt und Markus Schlatter, Master of Advanced Studies FH in Service Leadership, Thema: Konfliktmanagement im Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund – Mittel zum Zweck oder Chance zur Weiterentwicklung?
- Ebru Klüver, Bachelor of Science FH in Business Administration, Thema: Co-Branding zwischen einer Handels- und Herstellermarke am Beispiel der Migros und Marken von Textilherstellern
- Prathap Philip, Bachelor of Science FH in Business Information Technology, Thema: Einbindungsmöglichkeiten von Offshore-Entwicklung im Rational Unified Process am Beispiel eines Projektes mit strukturierter Programmiersprache
The evening was concluded with the musical entertainment by the Patchwork band and the Aperitif. Graduates, their families, faculty and staff of the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences had to opportunity to clink glasses and celebrate success of the graduates.
