EMBA FH with Focus on International Marketing – Excursion to Schulthess Klinik in Zurich

On December 4, 2009, in the course of Service Marketing, our 4th semester EMBA students had the great opportunity of visiting the well known Schulthess Klinik in Zurich http://www.schulthess-klinik.ch. The excursion was organized by the module leader Dr. Konrad Weigl who introduced the class to the Director and CEO of the Schulthess Klinik, Mr. Matthias P. Spielmann.

Mr. Spielmann welcomed the students and opened the event with an introduction round. The busy CEO reserved the whole morning in order to give an informative overview about the diverse clinic areas, to discuss the challenges of it’s development process and to explain the unique services of the house. Afterwards the group was invited to an accompanied show round and to look at different wards and departments followed by an open-minded round of questions and answers – always in the focus of Service Marketing and it’s challenges and chances.

The visit was an exciting and successful addition to the regular classes! The EMBA students could benefit from looking behind the scenes of a remarkable service provider within the health business. We thank Dr. Konrad Weigl for organizing this event!
