Executive MBA FH (in English)

  • Our Executive MBA is not just about acquiring business knowledge and techniques; we also build leadership and team working competencies, people and cross-cultural skills that are essential for managers.
  • Our Executive MBA program offers you a carefully integrated learning cycle. The program starts with building of a strong academic foundation in business administration and management and develops your leadership, team and communication skills in the first two semesters, and at a later stage gives you an opportunity to apply the acquired skills and know-how to real business cases.
  • The 3rd semester specialization builds up your international management and cross-cultural management competencies. In the final, 4th semester, you take control of your learning, tailoring the program to your personal and professional needs  – you can choose to focus either in International Marketing or Applied International Management and Affairs.
  • If you choose to take only the foundation stage or the 3rd semester or a 4th semester specialization, you will gain a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS).

The Executive MBA is delivered in an executive format, designed to enable working managers and professionals to combine work and studies. It is a major achievement to study for an Executive MBA while remaining in the full-time employment, and you must learn to manage a range of demands on your time including family, work and studies. At the International Management Institute of the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences we give you support in your learning experience.

The Executive MBA takes four semesters to complete. Modules run in focused  2, 2 ½ and 3 day blocks, depending on the study semester and the course.

For detailed description: see brochure.
Format: interactive learning, seminars, case discussions, team work, knowledge transfer, guest lectures and discussion platforms, international business experience.

EMBA Experience
  • Stimulating and interactive. Students engage in discussions with faculty and each other and share ideas and real work experiences. This approach leads you to acquire knowledge and skills and derive sustainable solutions to real business problems.
  • Theory and practice. We work with the Swiss industry to bring you the Knowledge Transfer Days – we believe learning takes place not only in the classroom but also through practice. Knowledge Transfer Days give you an opportunity to showcase and apply international management and cross-cultural management skills you have learned in the class.
  • Diversity. Each Executive MBA class is large enough to provide a diversity of experience, yet the small class size still gives you an opportunity to forge team spirit. Open dialogue is key to learning.
  • The power of teams. Your learning team is central to your experience from day one. Collaborative, dynamic and exciting environment is supported by leadership and team building activities and a business simulation game.
  • Leadership and top management presentations. Distinguished leaders from business, industry and politics will share their experiences with you through a series of discussion platforms and lectures throughout the semester. In addition, our annual Business Forum introduces to you experts from across the Swiss industry.
  • International Business Experience. The one-week international study trip provides an opportunity for you to apply your learning in an international context. The week typically involves a day of lectures at a leading business school and a chance to work with students from another country followed by four days of company visits. Current destination: India
