Objective

 

The path in Applied International Management and Affairs enables participants to immerse themselves in cross-cultural issues and world affairs.

 

The Applied Cross-Cultural Modules intend to:

 

  • Realize how socio-cultural norms and ideologies are deeply entrenched in business culture, therefore, influence the way business is conducted
  • Be able to apply analyze the current state of economic, legal, environmental, and management practices in other states
  • Develop an in-depth understanding and appreciate the role history, philosophy, religion and ethics of a certain state or region play in business operations
  • Become familiar with different cultures and acknowledge their importance for building fruitful personal exchanges and to promote successful business cooperation

 

The Applied World Affairs Modules explore the nexus of states, markets and global trends. The participants will

 

  • Review and reflect on the major phases of negotiation processes
  • Appraise key dimensions of negotiation dynamics, including the impact of power, information, and culture
  • Explore the importance of identifying strengths and weaknesses of one’s  position(s), understanding the other party’s position, sketching strategies, deploying tactics, mastering communication and inter-relational skills
  • Apply analytical and behavioural skills to practical cases in order to identify and select the best options

Admission Requirements

Candidates  

  • have an EMBA (or former NDS) or a BBA degree plus two years or more of working experience within International Marketing
  • are highly motivated, open minded, flexible and interested in intercultural and global business aspects
